Susan Nguyen

Psychologist (Clinical Registrar)

Susan is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar dedicated to bridging the gap between clinical excellence and heartfelt, human-centred care. As a first-generation Vietnamese-Australian, she brings a lived understanding of cultural nuance to her work, offering a safe space for clients to explore their identities and challenges in both English and Vietnamese.

Rather than a "one size fits all" approach, Susan focuses on the architecture of the therapeutic journey of building structured, compassionate intake and clinical processes that ensure families feel seen and supported from their very first point of contact. She believes that the best clinical outcomes happen when therapy is holistic, frequently collaborating with teachers, doctors, and allied health teams to wrap a circle of care around the individual.

Susan’s practice is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT-informed skills. She views her role not just as a clinician, but as a collaborator who empowers clients to navigate the complexities of the human experience with resilience and self-compassion.

Outside of her clinical work, Susan is an enthusiastic cat lover and the proud owner of two sibling cats. She is a strong advocate for animal welfare and loves encouraging others to consider adopting their future pets from animal shelters.
