Sudeshna is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who works with clients across the lifespan with various mental health challenges. In her work, she uses a collaborative, compassionate approach to work with people to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Sudeshna recognises the courage required to come to therapy and believes a good therapeutic relationship is foundational for growth. She uses a strengths-based approach to build resilience and paces therapy to address clients’ individual needs, helping them achieve their goals and live in alignment with their values.
She works with her clients to best understand their challenges using holistic, trauma informed care and evidence-based frameworks. These include modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Sudeshna has previous experience working in the disability sector, community clinics and within hospitals, working in both inpatient settings and outpatient pain clinics to support clients. Through these roles, she has gained experience working with various presentations including anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment related difficulties, behavioural difficulties, emotion dysregulation, grief and loss, and trauma-related disorders. She also has experience working with neurodiverse clients, culturally diverse clients, and clients with intellectual disabilities and cognitive disorders. Sudeshna is passionate and has a particular interest working with persistent pain presentations and supporting adults in later life.
In her spare time, Sudeshna enjoys reading a good book (preferably with her cat on her lap), cooking, and hiking.
